Sullivan Miranda, S.C. is an independent internal auditing firm founded in Mexico in 1998. We are a group of forensic accountants, certified fraud examiners and internal auditors.
Founder Der Hurley dhurley@smiranda.net is an Irish forensic accountant based in Mexico. He has a Masters in business administration (MBA) from the TEC de Monterrey (ITESM). He is a certified forensic accountant (CrFA) and certified fraud examiner (CFE). He has worked with various multinationals in the internal audit, controllership, fraud examination and prevention areas. He has lectured in fraud prevention at the ITESM Mexico City campus. He is a commercial dispute mediator and arbitrator. He is a social witness with the Secretaría de la Función Pública of Mexico, observing the bid processes of major public works projects.
Adriana Méndez amendez@smiranda.net is licensed in accountancy by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She has a postgraduate degree in international accounting and finances of the Universitdad Panamericana and is a certified fraud examiner (CFE). She worked for Arthur Andersen as financial system auditor specializing in banks, investment funds and factoring companies. She has participated in operational and financial efficiency projects for institutions within the same sector. She collaborated in Kroll as financial investigations director, being in charge of fraud prevention and detection, money laundering and internal control review for multinationals in Mexico and Latin America. She teaches at the accounting and administration faculty of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
Irving Ross iross@smiranda.net studied bussiness administration in the Universidad Anahuac. He has extensive experience in fraud investigation, executive protection, security evaluation, due dilligence, civil defense and protective driving courses. He has worked as consultant with Palmer Associates, Kroll ÓGara Company, Problem Solvers and IPSA. He was trained by CIA, FBI, Navy Seals and Secret Service instructors. His protection experience ranges from high executives to movie stars.
Brian Hurley bhurley@smiranda.net studied psychology in the Universidad Iberoamericana. He is in charge of SM's controllership and has participated in internal audits, fraud prevention and examination, due dilligence and litigation support.
